  1. Amazing covers; fortunately, I have most.

I really got pissed when FM started dedicating issue after issue to flamin' STAR WARS.

I'm aware of the commercial benefits of that decision now, but, Christ!, the mag changed overnight into something bland.

STAR WARS still gets a headline when it wasn't on the cover. Jees!

    1. Yeah and also half the magazine became a damn catalog for Star Wars crap. I've resented those boring movies ever since.

  2. Phantom of Pulp said..."STAR WARS still gets a headline when it wasn't on the cover."

And even worse, in later issues when the FM logo was much smaller than headlines like "BATTLESTAR GALACTICA". Sad!

  3. Yeah, that was the coming of the end.

  4. Added those last 10 covers. Only two cover paintings. Not lookin' good. (41 covers to go!)

  5. Shame, it was the covers that made FM.

Luckily I have most of the first 100 issues, but they are getting harder to get :(

Talking about bad covers, When I was very young, I remember going in my local flea comic shop, and there must of been a stock buying of FM`s, seeing FM #1 for £20(a lot all them years ago, I know I know),and thought I know its number one, but the covers rubbish, and there are tons of other FM`s in here with brilliant cover artwork and for only £5 each, ah well ya live and learn(still have not got #1)

Looking forward to the rest, great site.

    Thanks

  8. I remember seeing a small photo of an alternate cover for issue #141 - The cover showed the CEOT3K scene with the child standing and looking out of the open door of his house.

    1. Hi Preceptor!

There was no alt. cover published, but they may have used that photo in an early ad for the upcoming issue.

  9. Your correct Mike. It was in a subscription ad for Famous Monsters, Creepy, Eerie and Vampirella. Probably in issue 140 or 142 (and maybe in some of the other Warren Magazines).

  10. I finally found the ad for the "upcoming" Famous Monsters of Filmland issue #141 (with the alternate cover) in the pages of Warren's UFO and Alien Comix.
