And Black Zoo
Editor(s): "Sanzar Quasatood" and "Quaszar Sanatood"
1961 - 1964
Charlton, publisher of Hit Parader magazine and a wide variety of comic books, jumped on the monster mag bandwagon in 1961 with Horror Monsters and Mad Monsters. Like all Charlton product, these mags were cheaply produced (and looked it), but had nice colorful cover art and were fairly well written. Sought after by collectors, but difficult to find in nice condition due the the cheap paper and printing. Charlton business manager Ed Konick is often sited as the actual editor of the Charlton monster mags.
This one-shot retold the story of the Herman Cohen produced movie using photos in a comic book style (fumetti).
